In the summer term, the NCETM, working through the Maths Hubs will publish support materials for assessment of the depth of pupils’ knowledge within the context of a mastery curriculum.
- Mastery teaching in mixed age-group classes
Most schools adopting mastery approaches so far have single year group classes. Mixed age group classes, common in smaller schools, present greater challenges in adopting this approach. More research and experimentation is needed in this area.
